Tricone bits created for hard rock formations usually have less protruding teeth that are also very close together. If you are working with a rock formation that is a little difficult to place, you are going to need to pay special attention to the type of teeth, additional seals, and gauges that you may need in order to effectively drill into the formation.

What Will a Tricone Drill Bit Do?
